Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Nintendo STEALS Money!Since this has been going around lately, I should probably give my two cents. Basically what it amounts to is that Nintendo has filed Content ID info of their games with YouTube. What this means is that if you upload gameplay video of a Nintendo game, YouTube will automatically monetize that video, put ads on it, a link to where to buy the game, and take the money generated from that video and give it directly to Nintendo. People who do "let's play" videos are, naturally, pissed off because they want to be earning money off their videos, so they're calling Nintendo "thieves" for doing this.
I can see both sides to the story. I can see Nintendo as a corporation wanting to exercise control over their properties. On the other hand, "let's play" videos can often help new gamers find games they otherwise wouldn't have tried.
But here's the thing: Nintendo isn't the first company do this. Both Microsoft and Ubisoft do it already. YouTube has also had a long history of having music videos and

3rd Annual Only-Wallpapers Icon Contest Announcemen!!!

The 2013 Annual  Icon Contest will officially open for submissions on Saturday October 20, 2012

Please read below the following regarding the contest and rules.

The 3rd Annual Icon Contest  will end on Saturday, December 15, so get your creative juices flowing and create the yearly icon for #only-wallpapers that will be displayed for the entire year of 2013.

Prizes:

Prize listing will be posted shortly. There will be points, subscriptions, and features!!

If anyone can donate subscriptions or points, please contact =GypsyH by personal note with your donation.

Rules:

**  Contest is open to all members and it's affiliated members that are also a member of #only-wallpapers

**  Up to 3 entries per member allowed

**  Size is 100 X 50

**  Can not exceed 30 kb for animated entries.

**  Both animated and non-animated entries are allowed.

Judging:

This years contest will be judged by the Administration Staff and other judges outside of the group who will not be entering this contest.

Once we have the top 10 entries judged, we will then re-vote for the top 3 and announce the winner on January 1, 2013 CST

I don't understand why dA has a limit that low on the size of animation. Try lowering the number of frames. I really need some entries. Seems people do not have time to enter this year.
